Admission Requirements
- 1. AEU application form & A non-refundable application fee, $100
- 2. Two letters of recommendation
- 3. A statement of the applicant’s Christian Faith
- 4. One recent passport photograph
- 5. Sealed official transcript & the Diploma
- 6. AEU I-20 Application & a non-refundable international student service fee, $400
- 7. Evidence of Financial Support ( $19,000/per year, additional $3000 per dependent)
- 8. Health Insurance
- 9. Passport ( student & each dependent’s copy, if applicable)
Once AEU has determined that your application is complete and you are academically eligible, AEU will mail the Acceptance letter & a Form I-20 to enable you to apply for your student visa.

What is a Form I-20 (COE)?
- - A multi-purpose document issued by a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school and has demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay in the United States.
- - It is officially titled the “Certificate of Eligibility” allows an individual to apply for an F-1 student visa.
- - Contains details about you, your school, and program of study.
- - SEVIS ID number
** AEU emails the draft I-20 for reviewing the information on the I-20 for accuracy.
How to apply for a Student Visa
International students are required to have a valid visa in their passport to be allowed entry into the United States. For general information, check the U.S. Department of State website (
www.state.gov).
- 1. Receive I-20 from AEU
- 2. Pay the SEVIS Fee (www.fmjfee.com), print the receipt for your record
- 3. Complete the online Visa Application for all non-immigrant (form DS-160) & Pay **print the confirmation page for visa interview
- 4. Schedule visa interview appointment & check the current wait times
**Apply as early as possible to avoid delays
- 5. Attend visa interview
Organize Documents for Interviewing Visa
- 1. Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of travel to the U.S.)
- 2. Original I-20 (not copy)
- 3. Acceptance Letter from AEU
- 4. DS-160 (confirmation page)
- 5. SEVIS Fee receipt
- 6. Proof of Funding (bank statements, award letters, etc.)
- 7. Any other documents listed on consulate/US Embassy website
Interview Tips
- 1. Answer questions concisely and honestly.
- 2. Be aware that the consulate may also conduct a social media review
- 3. Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification, if you don’t understand something
- 4. Always be respectful and courteous
Receive Visa
In most cases, you’ll find out if your visa is approved at the interview.
Check the visa for accuracy
- 1. Spelling of your name
- 2. Visa type F-1
Visas for Dependents (F-2)
- 1. Legally married spouse
- 2. Children under 21
- 3. May apply with the F-1 or separately
- 4. Will need their own documents and copies of the F-1 documents
Arriving in the U.S.
- 1. Can enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the Program Start Date on the I-20
- 2. Entering at least 1 week before classes begin
