The Master of Divinity (MDiv) program is designed to equip students with skills to integrate biblical and theological reflection with hands-on ministry experience to become servant leaders in local church settings, parachurch organizations, and mission fields. The program also prepares students for innovative leadership, redemptive engagement, and transformational service, enabling them to minister effectively amid the contemporary challenges of an increasingly diverse, rapidly changing, and technologically advancing world.
The MDiv program introduces students to all 66 books of the Bible. It emphasizes missiological hermeneutics as the primary lens through which Scripture is read and interpreted as God's revelation, equipping students to develop a biblically grounded and mission-oriented approach to ministry.
CREATIVE AND HOLISTIC FORMATIONThe program equips students to communicate the unchanging Gospel in fresh and meaningful ways to diverse audiences, including professionals, academics, artists, ministry leaders, and parachurch workers. Designed within a vibrant learning community, the program provides comprehensive theological education, intentional mentoring, and meaningful peer support. Students are encouraged to discern and faithfully pursue their unique vocational calling through close relationships with faculty and fellow students.
PRACTICAL AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (Internship Required)All MDiv students are required to complete a supervised ministry internship consisting of 6–12 academic credit hours. The internship serves as the capstone experience of the MDiv degree and includes ministry goal setting, mentoring, reflective journaling, time-log documentation, and participation in collaborative internship clusters. Through this integrative experience, students develop practical leadership, pastoral ministry, organizational management, and administrative skills grounded in biblical and theological reflection.
This concentration prepares students for a wide range of skilled, biblically based pastoral ministry, as well as for leadership in the local church and beyond. It can also be the foundation for further academic work.
MASTER OF DIVINITY IN CHRISTIAN COUNSELINGThe MDiv in Christian Counseling degree program is designed to prepare students for a ministry of Christian counseling to individuals, couples, and families in a congregational, denominational agency, counseling center, or missional setting.
The criteria for entrance to the Master’s Degree in Divinity are:
1. Completion of Application Form for Admission.
2. Three letters of recommendation from faculty, counselors, school administrators, employers, or church leaders.
3. Possession of or candidacy for an accredited Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
